Carefree Kiwanis Programs the Marketplace Supports

SCHOLARSHIP AND MERIT AWARDS

The Kiwanis Club of Carefree has consistently focused on enriching the education of students in our community. The Club believes education is the foundation for building a successful future career. In 1986 the Club introduced its scholarship program as a way to enhance the educational opportunities available to high school seniors who reside within the boundaries of the Cave Creek Unified School District.

Scholarship recipients have demonstrated academic fortitude, a desire to pursue higher education, an interest in improving the community as well as financial need. Since the implementation of the scholarship program, the Kiwanis Club of Carefree has awarded over $1.3 million. The scholarship and merit awards have provided financial assistance to approximately 200 students. Schools our student recipients attend or have graduated from include: Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, University of Kansas, University of Utah, Yale University, Grand Canyon University, Paradise Valley Community College and Scottsdale Community College.

OTHER PROJECTS WE HAVE SUPPORTED

In addition to the projects below, we also have sponsored Boy Scouts and many other small projects.  Kiwanis Club of Carefree also supports the Desert Foothills Key Club.

Many of our recent recipients are pictured on the walls of the store so that all can see what programs we sponsor.  If you have a special project that you think qualifies, please let us know. A Committee reviews and determines if your project qualifies.
