Desert Foothills Library youth area is very important to us and we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the experience for families. The major grant provided by the Kiwanis Club of Carefree enabled us to re-configure an area of the library, redecorate and purchase manipulatives, not only for the enjoyment of kids, but also to encourage learning at a very early age. We call this area “Children’s Creative Corner.”
One of our keys areas of work is to encourage early literacy and learning and the improvements have enhanced the ability of library staff to continue this work. We have also been fortunate to receive additional funding to establish a specialist section of the library for homeschool parents. We have added books and other materials and could not have achieved this without the support of Kiwanis.
